DAY 25 SANTONA / GUEMES (bus back from santander to Santona)

Publié le par Dominique Bengtsson

23,5 km mostly sunny. Quite warm 23 degrees. It took 5 hours to get there.

Two days in Santander and my friend is feeling OK. Time to go back by buss to the place where stopped last : Santona. It might seem a little pedantic to go back but I absolutely wanted to stay at father Ernesto's place. He is 80 years old and he has travelled all over the world (He knew my birth' s place well). He speaks several languages and he has dedicated his life to the albergue for pilgrims he built after walking the Camino.

Father Ernesto is well known in Spain and his albergue is the place not to miss on the Camino. We were warmly received by father Ernesto. We and 44 other pilgrims from 17 nationalities. Among them one girl from Sweden and her boyfriend from Spain. The poor guy is moving to Sweden... I told him that I survived it myself (the old saying ...what doesn't kill you makes you strong). We had a real nice evening with a bunch of French and Canadian people... one of the strong day of the Camino. The dormatory was not too impressive but it is again part of the game..
