Day 14 Cardalliac to Thémines

Day 14 17.02.2022 Cardaillac  to Themines 24 km  a beautiful day, warm in the sun, still slightly cold in the shadow. Easy walking.

We did not expect much from Themines 220 inhabitants including children. But it was actually a very lively little village. The pilgrim house works as the village bar but is mainly for the pilgrims. A local guy bought a beer and wondered about the opening hours. The answer was that it opens when the pilgrims arrive around 15-16 and it closes when the pilgrims eat at around 19h30. The guy was not very satisfied, he said that he was also a kind of pilgrim but leaving in the village, so the closing time was too early....

We had a really special evening together with 4 pilgrims from Perpignan. They belonged to a choir and they sang beautifully for us after dinner.

Hello Dominique,
Superbe découverte que le château de Lacapelle Marival. C'est incroyable la richesse historique des sites français paumés dans des lieux hors tourisme de masse.
Concernant l'horaire de fermeture du bar, le village de Thémines pourrait se jumeler avec certaines villes suédoises. Les touristes ne seraient pas dépaysés

Salut Gérard, oui il y a plein de sites incroyables surtout quand on marche. Des fois sans accès au voitures en plus. Effectivement pour le bar c'était des horaires semblables à certains endroits visités plus tôt... mais pour les pèlerins c'était 21h tout de même, il faut mériter son apéro !!!
