32, 5 km + 3,5 (took the wrong turn) pouring rain the all day. About 16 degrees. 9 long hours to get there.
What a day!!! After such a nice hostel and a nice evening, it was a bit of a anticlimax to leave the hostel under pouring rain. I left with a couple, she from Sweden and him from Spain.
The first two hours were Ok, Therese and I discussed Swedish politic but as we agreed on everything the subject was closed. Then I met some pilgrim I knew and they continued. It was impossible to catch them again. They walk faster than I do.
I have been complaining about how much asphalt walking we have been doing. Just that day when it is pouring rain, it is mainly forest and riverbeds. Mud bath after mud bath, I painfully manage to walk and walk. No sign of life. Fortunately my friends from the WhatsApp group "the values of the Camino" are helping me through the worse with their superbad but entertaining advices.
At a certain point a coca cola machine appears in the middle of nowhere and I buy a coke ( I don't really like coke but when it is sent directly from God ....). I wrongly think that such a machine means villages and people but no. It was probably placed there just for me.
At 17 h I finally reach the wretched place and get a ticket to the albergue ( I learnt the day after that the guidebook recommended to avoid to stay there. What a horrible place absolutely crowded and full with sour pilgrims (where did that people come from???)
The village was also boring, the atmosphere depressing... well I don't recommend to stay there if it can be avoided.
