DAY 8 CAMPING TAMARIS PLAGE/ HONDARRIBIA (SPAIN)

Publié le par Dominique Bengtsson

29 km. (The usual wrong turns but I am use to it by now). Cloudy in the morning, beautiful weather in the afternoon. 25 degrees. 7 hours walk.

Today was a big day. I left the camping early. 2 wrong turns but knowing that there is a meaning in everything we do, I did not care. Beautiful sceneries. That littoral walk is unbeatable!!!! I came finally to saint-jean-de-luz. Really nice town. I was close to stay  there for the night.  I was fumbling with my telephone when I saw a women in my age, walking with a backpack, sticks etc.... potential pilgrim.🤔 No shell on the pack. ( but I don't have any either as pilgrims are an endangered species. Think if there is a collector around). Well, it turned out that it was an American pilgrim (third pilgrimage, I feel a bit inexperienced suddenly).

It was like finding a long lost friend. We were there skaking 8 hands frantically!!!. No need to say that we travelled together to HONDARRIBIA. Historical day as well. We crossed the border to Spain and the journey that was so easy before became very confused. I don't understand a word of Spanish. And they don't seem to know anything else.

But well, enough for today. I'm a bit delayed with the writing.....
